About the Role
Individual's families/carers, Support Workers, Allied Health professionals such as Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, General Practitioner, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Teachers, etc.
Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or equivalent experience that meets the requirements of the NDIS Capability Framework.
Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience conducting assessments including behaviour-based assessments, functional behaviour assessment, writing and implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans and strategies ( including the training of these strategies and skills to families/carers and support workers) in child protection and or under the NDIS and an understanding of Restrictive practices.
Experience providing evidence-based interventions including therapy, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, narrative exposure therapy.
Experience working with individuals living with Autism Spectrum Disorder, personality disorders, dual disability, mental health, drug and alcohol and challenging behaviours.
Sound understanding of the impacts of trauma and trauma-informed practise principles.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills including high level written and problem-solving skills, the capacity to impart knowledge and an ability to motivate others.
Demonstrated ability to utilise data collection tools, collate information, analyse and prepare reports for relevant stakeholders.
Capability to work independently to achieve identified goals within time constraints.
Current NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
Current WWCC and NPCC.
Current Driver’s Licence and ability to use your own car to do preschool/school/home visits as required.

An exciting opportunity currently exists for a Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our Multidisciplinary team on a contract basis. Working alongside our team of Speech pathologists and Occupational Therapists, you will provide individualised Positive Behaviour Support Plans and support strategies to Children, Young People and Adults and their families/carers.
